Octavia Miles, M.B.A. (72 years young)
Octavia walks five miles five days a week on a treadmill. She used to walk with a buddy but when the buddy moved out of the area, she found that she enjoyed the treadmill at the gym more than solitary walks. She also enjoys a half mile stroll every evening after dinner and on Saturdays she heads out for a walk around her neighborhood. She's a veteran of five Los Angeles Marathons.
In addition to aerobic activity, Octavia also spends 10 minutes in the morning on the floor next to her bed doing stretches, leg-lifts and ab-crunches, as well as a shoulder stand for 5 minutes. As a researcher for UCLA helping to promote healthy and active lifestyles, Octavia Miles is a role model and inspiration who practices what she preaches. Exercises — From warmup to cooldown.
