| Budget Travel Workshops Great for First-Time
International Travelers World Travel 101 Budget Travel Workshops are geared toward the first-time traveler planning a trip abroad! They are resource workshops and admission is $5 for HI-members and students, and $10 for non-members. Speakers are volunteers who have traveled extensively in the region. All workshops are held at the HI Travel Store, 1434 Second Street, Santa Monica and begin at 11 a.m., unless noted otherwise. Europe - This workshop provides all the basic information you need for a safe and successful European trip. Veteran travelers offer tips on everything from budgeting, packing, finding accomodations, rail transportation, language barriers, getting the most out of your trip and more. Europe By Rail - Eurail, Eurail Select, Britrail, Eurostar, ferries, the Chunnel, first class, second class, couchettes, sleepers - What's the difference? How much do they cost? What's the best deal? Are point-to-point tickets better? This workshop provides an in-depth view on these topics and more. India - The saying goes: "You haven't traveled until you've been to India." Find out why! From diversity of place, space, sights and smells, India is a great travel destination. This workshop covers packing, safety, busses, trains, street food and cultural customs. Mature Traveler - Turning 60 is no reason to stop following your wanderlust. Many individuals and couples discover the benefits of independent travel. This workshop addresses some of the special opportunities available for mature travelers, as well as the special needs for the older traveler. Southeast Asia - A vast region of the world including Brunei,
Burma, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand,
and Vietnam. Come learn and explore your options with travel tips, health and safety precautions, and other information
