Community leaders - promote physical activity and nutrition!

  • Provide resources for your communities to get active in safe areas

  • Encourage families in your communities to make better health a priority increasing activity and eating healthier foods.

  • Be a role model within your community and ask community members to join you.

  • Encourage your elected officials to review policies that make more parks, community centers, and recreation areas with trails that provide places for community members to enjoy activities.

  • Ask your teams to suggest opportunities to help make the community more active, and help empower them with resources to make a plan.

Remember that you are a role model:

  • Get fit and stay active

  • Encourage your community to get active

  • Include exercise breaks and nutritious snacks and water at all meetings longer than 60 minutes

  • Encourage your community to follow recommended activity and nutrition guidelines that encourage healthy food selections and moderate portion sizes.
